Overview

CAAS delivers climate-adaptive agricultural solutions for smallholder farmers in Bangladesh — combining the RareRipe Seedling Incubator and RareRipe Climate Smart Irrigation System into one harmonised response to erratic weather, seedling mortality, diesel dependence and food insecurity.

The problem is immediate: unseasonal rains and temperature shocks drive crop failure; open-field nurseries can lose up to 40% of seedlings; diesel irrigation can consume around 30% of seasonal farming profits; and declining efficiency threatens local food supply.

Core solutions include a climate-controlled RareRipe Seedling Incubator for optimal germination, and a solar-powered DC Climate Smart Irrigation System that eliminates diesel dependence while cutting water costs.

Competitive advantages include proprietary micro-climate shielding, net-zero solar automation during irrigation cycles, and a market focus on smallholders, farmer groups, NGOs, cooperatives and agricultural associations across Bangladesh.

Go-to-market centres on demonstration plots in Gaibandha, Bogura and Sajek, partnerships with DAE and rural NGOs, and Green Harvest branding for climate-resilient harvests.

Key highlights

  • RareRipe Seedling Incubator: survival from 60% to over 95%
  • RareRipe Climate Smart Irrigation: solar DC pumps, ~70% lower water costs
  • Locally engineered for humidity, salinity and low-voltage rural grids
  • Traditional knowledge integrated with modern sensor technology
