Overview
An integrated, technology-driven Climate-Smart Farming System that strengthens climate-resilient agriculture — establishing a Climate-Smart Farming Hub as the central point for information, technology, training and market access across the farming cycle.
The proposed project addresses seed germination and seedling production under erratic weather. RareRipe germinators and incubators ensure high germination rates, timely production and healthy seedlings — building a stronger crop foundation from the earliest stage.
Mid-cycle crop management uses moisture, temperature and light sensors to monitor critical control points and trigger actions such as starting or stopping drip or sprinkler irrigation and deploying fogging systems — complemented by mulching and weather forecasts to cut water use and blunt heat and excess rainfall.
A dedicated website and mobile application support monitoring and accountability. The hub and technologies are intended to be owned and operated by a local cooperative generating service revenue, with a twelve-month pilot that is feasible and cost-effective relative to benefits.
Implementation covers baseline assessment, beneficiary selection, hub establishment, technology deployment, curriculum development, training and market-linkage formation.
