Overview
SILVER is HEAL's flagship Live Laboratory in Sajek — integrating net-zero infrastructure, hybrid forestation, decentralised water and zero-waste systems with applied climate research and the preservation of Chittagong Hill Tracts heritage and Traditional Ecological Knowledge.
Sited in Konglak, Sajek (Baghaichhari, Rangamati), SILVER treats an entire hill site as one integrated demonstration: low-impact cottages, a DC-microgrid energy backbone, a decentralised water cycle and zero-waste circular protocols, all wired with sensors that feed a research institute in real time.
Its intellectual core, the Applied Resilience & Knowledge Hub (ARKH), pairs an Applied Hillside Climate Solutions Institute with a CHT Ethno-Ecological Archive & TEK Center — a living museum and digital archive that formalises the ecological wisdom of the Chakma, Marma, Tripura and other Jumma peoples.
SILVER has its own dedicated site with the full component breakdown, objectives, KPIs and donor strategy.
