Overview
An Integrated Water Management & Community Action (IWMCA) Hub for wards facing chronic dry-season water stress — cutting groundwater extraction while transforming how a community collects, reuses and recharges its water.
Wards 3, 6, 8 and 11 of Chapainawabganj face chronic water stress from March to June. The IWMCA Hub acts as the central point for water sourcing, management and behaviour change — minimising dependence on underground water by the end of the project.
The model makes rainwater harvesting, water recycling and wetland-based natural purification standard, maximising reuse and groundwater recharge. For agriculture, the RareRipe Climate-Smart Irrigation System pairs solar DC pumps with moisture and temperature sensors, drip/sprinkler techniques and weather-forecast adaptation.
A dedicated website and mobile app monitor usage in real time. The initial hub, water network and management system roll out within 12 months, with larger reservoirs planned longer-term.
